"Rust in Piece," (a Span of Sunset, Inc. production) the first exhibition
between Slick and Stash--two leading graffiti artists from Los Angeles and
New York City, respectively--began on November 9, 2006 at the Melt Gallery
in Hollywood, California.
If you are familiar with both artists' work you may be surprised
by this collaboration. However upon stepping into the gallery, the
differences between these two artists create an experience that will
interest and challenge the viewer. This is a very significant collaboration.
Slick delivers his letters and tags mainly on canvas, while Stash's spray
can motif pieces are created with materials such as wood and metal. Many
attendees from the worlds of art, music and fashion came out to support the
exhibition on opening night. DJ Money Mark (Beastie Boys) and his band
performed as surprise guests for the crowd. "Rust in Piece" is noted as one
of the best art shows held in Los Angeles this year and it continues through
December 22, 2006.

今日はクリスマスに向けて私のお勧め商品を紹介したいと思います。
それは。。
スナイパーバニー！！！です。
Andrew Brandou x Span of Sunset "Sniper Bunny"
Regular and Creepy Crawl Version.

最近はトイが飽和状態でどれを買って良いのやら、また何処でも手に入る物ばかりで
オリジナリテリイでかつ可愛いものってなると探すのが難しいですよね。

でもこれはそんな私達を満足させる商品ではないでしょうか。値段もちょうどイイデスね。
Andrew Brandou x Span of Sunset とのコラボレイトで作られています。
中身は写真にあるウサギ、ポストカード、銃のおもちゃが色違いで４つ。
箱の作りも凝っています。

これはハリウッドで以前起きた実際の殺人事件に基づいて作られた物で、
1969年８月８日、ハリウッドの高級住宅でロマン・ポランスキー監督の妻＝シャロン・テートを含む数人が 惨殺されました。犯人とされたのはカルト集団チャールズ・マンソン・ファミリーの４人のメンバーでした。被害者のシャロン・テートは臨月も近い身重の体で したし、屋敷を訪れていて巻き添えになった者の中には、彼女の昔の恋人等が含まれていたことから、異常なスキャンダルを含んだ猟奇事件に発展していきまし た。特にシャロン･テートは裸に剥かれ、妊婦腹をメッタ刺しにされていたのです。そして家の中には彼女の血を用いて描かれた不気味なメッセージやイラスト が幾つか発見されています。


そんな恐ろしいテーマを題材にしていますのであくまでも大人用としてオススメします。
男女どちらに送っても喜ばれると思います。

今回はメルトダウンのメルトギャラリーで開催中の展示を紹介します。

スタッシュはＮＹで活躍中のグラフィティ・アーティスト。そしてスリックは西海岸で活躍するグラフィティ・アーティスト。東西を代表する彼らの作品が同時に観れるという1度に２度美味しい展示がメルトダウン内のギャラリースペースにて開催しております。 http://www.meltcomics.com/
なんと言っても面白いのはこの２人の作品のテイストが全く違う所だと思います。

スタッシュは日本でもメディコム・トイとのコラボでお馴染みですが、彼の作品はレーザーとリューターを使った面白い加工をしてある作品が目立ちます。

これは実際に使うのはかなり勇気がいるのでは、という程のアーティスティックな作品です。
リューターの加工はとても細かく美しいです。

これかなり本人に近いです！というか本人です。スタッシュ狂いの方にはマスト・アイテムではないでしょうか。そうでない方にも可愛いです。

次にスリック。彼の作品からはストリート性を強く感じます。基本は「壁」に落書き、というスタイル。そして少し遊び心があるのが彼らしいところ。
ギャラリーの壁に人型そのままのプリントを貼り付けた物にはいつもビックリしてしまいます。

We at Span of Sunset, Inc. were recently contracted by the City of Beverly Hills to create a series of banners for this and upcoming Christmas seasons. Span of Sunset's own Nic Cowan took the task and created "Old 50's - 60's Hollywood " inspired banners which you will see around The City Beverly Hills. Rise your head and look up! Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.

Track 16 Gallery is pleased to present the exhibitions, Lun*na Menoh: 1986-2006, The exhibitions run from December 2 through December 23, 2006.

The Opening night,there was a fashion show featuring the work of Lun*na Menoh to follow, as well as a performance by her band, “Jean Paul Yamamoto”.
This art show is whole her art works what we can see , sculpture, performance art, and video.

今日12月2日からスタートした（今月23日まで）私の友人（ＬＡでの生活やアートにおける大先輩！）であるルンナ・メノーさんのオープニング・レセプションに行ってまいりました。

Track 16ギャラリーというのは集合ギャラリーのひとつ。幾つかの倉庫の中に個々のギャラリーが経営しているという形式で最近は日本にも同じ形式の集合ギャラリーが増えていますが日本ではなかなか難しいかもと感じさせるＬＡならではの広さと規模。

全てのギャラリーに活気があり中でも彼女のショーは満員で一際賑わっていました。
彼女の集大成とも言える規模の個展。今晩のこのオープニングでは彼女の作ったドレスのファッションショーが彼女自身がオーガナイズするバンドをバックに披露されました。

今月1ヶ月足らずという短い期間なので是非すぐに足を運んでみて下さい。彼女の作品からは美しいだけではない、核となるパンクな精神も感じられる事でしょう。23日までです。是非！！www.track16.com
